About
playparx was founded with a mission to create jobs and build high-quality playgrounds for communities in Cambodia. What started as a small workshop has grown into a dedicated team of skilled craftsmen, providing training for local workers and stable employment .
We believe in the importance of sustainable job opportunities. By designing and manufacturing safe, creative play spaces, we not only bring joy to children but also support families through meaningful work.
Our Story
playparx was founded in 2023 by Peter Stahl with a clear mission: to create jobs and improve living conditions for men from disadvantaged communities in Siem Reap.
The founder has lived in Cambodia since 2009, first in Koh Kong Province, where he started vocational training in metalworks. After moving to Siem Reap, he saw the need for sustainable employment opportunities, especially for those relocated to Run Ta Aek.
Run Ta Aek was chosen as the location because thousands of families were resettled there from Apsara Land near the temples, yet job opportunities there were scarce. playparx aims to change that by providing stable employment, allowing men to work near their families instead of seeking jobs far away.
Since October 2024, playparx has been operating from its new workshop in Run Ta Aek. The team continues to build playgrounds and take on sustainable, hands-on projects, always with the goal of creating jobs and strengthening the community.
